THERE SHE GOES JOURNEYS
How we pick our journeys
At There She Goes Journeys, we don’t choose destinations based on popularity or trend. We choose places that invite transformation.
Each journey begins with a feeling - a whisper from a place that holds space for women to reconnect with themselves and the world around them. Whether it’s a quiet desert village or a bustling ancient city, the destination must offer more than beauty. It must offer soul.
We’re not afraid of places where many people go. What matters is how we go. Even a frenetic city like Cairo can become a sanctuary when approached with intention. Amid noise, we learn to quiet our minds. In the presence of ancient wonders, we remember our place in the universe.
So what makes a destination right for There She Goes Journeys?
1
It must invite depth.
We look for places that allow for introspection, movement, and growth - whether through nature, history, or culture.
2
It must be real.
We avoid tailored perfection. We seek places where people live, not just visit. Places with texture, contrast, and authenticity.
3
It must welcome women.
Destinations that offer warmth and inclusivity are essential. We carefully select destinations where solo women travelers can feel free and supported; and where they are embraced with openness and care.
4
It must align with our values.
We partner with communities that honour their heritage, respect the land, and welcome meaningful exchange.
5
It must offer a journey - not just a holiday trip.
We’re not here to escape life. We’re here to meet it fully. Adventure matters and every destination must offer the chance to return to ourselves.
A CLOSER LOOK AT WHEN, WHERE and HOW
The Sinai Desert and the Red Sea Chapter
Our first chapter unfolds in Dahab, Egypt - a soulful village between the Sinai desert and the Red Sea. But future journeys may take us to ancient cities, mountain sanctuaries, or quiet islands. What matters is the invitation to go deeper.

Fly into
We fly into Sharm El Sheikh, a polished Red Sea resort town with large hotels, bustling promenades, international diving centres, glossy nightlife and the glamour that comes with a world-famous tourist hub which attracts holidaymakers from across the globe.

Experience
Dahab, our base, carries a gentler more soulful spirit. About 1,5 hours north along the coast from Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab was once a small Bedouin fishing village. It has held onto the bohemian character even as it’s grown. Instead of the glitz, you’ll find barefoot cafés by the sea, hammocks swinging between palm trees, and diving shops running on first-name friendships. Life here flows at a slower pace – perfect for travellers who want not just adventure but also time to reflect, breath, connect – and just ‘be’.
The Sinai is home to both Bedouin and Egyptians, and in Dahab those traditions weave together with the energy of people who have come from all over the world. Here, local Bedouin families run dive sites and desert excursions alongside Egyptian hosts who bring their own warmth and hospitality. Add to that the tapestry of expats, digital nomads, artists, and seekers who’ve made Dahab their home, and you get a place that feels both grounded and free-spirited.
This mix gives Dahab its unmistakable character – open, creative, and welcoming. It’s a town where you’ll sip tea with Bedouin guides, snorkel the reefs or go scuba and free diving, kite surf, share stories with fellow travellers, and feel at home among people who’ve chosen to live a little differently, closer to the sea and desert.
It's often said that in Dahab you won’t find what you’re looking for; but you’ll get what you need.
