Our hotel prices are based on two people sharing a room. One of the objectives of our journeys is to enable women to form new friendships in a small group context.

A group Zoom call will be hosted with all confirmed and paid clients where we will meet each other for the first time. We will share more information about our destination and answer questions, while starting to finalise details on hotel room sharing and other practical and logistical matters.

There She Goes Journeys is not a travel agency. We are creators and hosts of the journey experience. All travellers book their own flights, whether you’re joining us from Johannesburg, Cape Town, London, Berlin or Perth. We’ll meet at a specified point on a specified date. That’s where our journey together will start. We can offer guidance on the best flight routes based on our experience, but your choice depends on your personal travel plan, budget and preferences. From South Africa, we often fly either directly from Cape Town via Istanbul on Turkish Air, or via Johannesburg to Cairo on EgyptAir, with a quick connecting flight to Sharm El Sheikh.

You will be responsible for your own visa arrangements, as well as for all insurance requirements. Please see our note on visas in your ‘welcome letter’. At this stage, you are not required to have any vaccines to enter Egypt, unless you’re arriving from a country with a risk of Yellow Fever. It’s best to consult a healthcare provider for your own personalised advice.

Each journey’s date and itinerary will be made available on our official pages. To express your interest in joining a journey, you’ll comment on our Facebook page. We will then get in touch with you to request your email address, and will send you the necessary details, including payment information.

You don’t need to have athletic-level fitness, but most of our journeys will require some degree of physical ability as we’ll be active for a part of each day, whether walking along the seaside, hiking, or exploring. And no need to be a champion swimmer or experienced snorkeller for journeys that take us to the ocean, but you need to be comfortable in the sea. Note that our Red Sea journey will largely take you to calm seas and protected bays.

No, you don’t. All snorkelling equipment rental is included in the package price, including a short wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins. If you’d like to bring your own snorkelling equipment, you can absolutely do so, but the package price will remain unchanged.

Yes. Dahab is a peaceful village with a strong community of locals and travellers. It’s known for its welcoming atmosphere and low crime rate.

Whereas there is sporadic conflict in the Sinai, especially northern and northwestern Sinai, the southern Sinai in the proximity of Sharm El Sheikh is and remains consistently popular with tourists and divers from across the world. If you are risk-averse and view a visit to the Sinai and the Red Sea as potentially more perilous than getting in a car on South African roads, then a local road trip may be more suited to you.

Yes, it’s safe. Dahab is a very popular free diving, scuba diving, snorkelling and kite-surfing destination. The waters in Dahab Bay are calm and clear, though the wind may cause some early morning turbulence. We’ll guide beginners and support all comfort levels. Just as in any part of the ocean, the Red Sea also has certain poisonous sea life, and you’ll need to take personal responsibility for not touching the sea life or the coral reef.

No problem! We’ll offer gentle guidance and optional gear. You can also choose to simply swim or float.

Dahab is known for quality scuba diving, so we can certainly accommodate your request. We’d be happy to adjust your package price to accommodate scuba diving instead of snorkelling. Please reach out to us if this is your preference.
